Part 2 of 3: due soon
Book 3: early 2026
Two Kids, One Kidnap
Twins Archer and Mimi Price have a growing to-do list. Item Number Two is to rescue Mum, who has been kidnapped by King Francas of Neven.
The twins gather a team of rescuers, including Toby, who’s no longer collecting dog poo, hunter/tracker Pachina, and a mix of adults because, well, sometimes adults can be helpful.
Together, they scour the highs and lows of Neven, searching for Mum, whose cunning kidnappers are always one, two, or even three steps ahead.
As the group faces off against giant trolls, tiny goblins, and fearsome golems, Mimi and Archer try not to lose sight of Item Number One: track down their elusive grandad.
The Bracelet of Akra continues the tale that began in
The Books of Neven.
The Bracelet of Akra
Chapter Bite
Archer and Mimi Price were far from home.
Archer and his twin sister, Mimi, called Marshton their home. They were in Neven, an ancient medieval kingdom. You wouldn’t find Neven in a travel brochure or on a website. It wasn’t a place you could reach by car, plane, or ship.
You needed a magical cube, which the twins found in Nan’s attic.
The twins had some problems:
Problem #1: Archer and Mimi’s grandfather, Sam Brown, had been missing for thirty years.
Problem #2: Mum was kidnapped by Neven’s bad guys. One of them was a woman.
The Gaoler–not your friend
The dungeon–the disgusting smells and creepy sounds are still there. So are the rats–more of them
More places not to visit in Neven.
Calm Bay, Neven’s port for ships. It’s full of pirates, villains, and criminals. Sometimes, you’ll find a ship
The Noisy Crow–a tavern in Akra. It’s also full of villains and criminals. No pirates, though. They’re at Calm Bay
Who’s Who in Book 2 …
Toby–Neven street kid and ex-dog poo collector
Archer Price–his brain gets him into trouble (and out of it)
Pachina–Neven’s best hunter and tracker
Mimi Price–she juggles and plays soccer (not at the same time)
King Francas–still the bad guy
You know what happens when you hold a cup under a running tap. It fills with water, right? What happens if you leave it there? It overflows, doesn’t it?
The same is true of your brain when you’re trying to learn something. If you are trying to fill it with too many things at once, it will overflow.
Like the cup, it will keep some of the things you’ve learned. Everything else will spill over and be lost down the sink.
